CALCULATORS
PRODUCT INFO

Gate Panel Calculator

You can use our calculator below to figure out all the materials you need for a gate panel.
This calculator takes the make size for your gate and allows you to either order just the materials, a gate kit (materials cut to size), or a full gate fabrication (ready for install).

Single Gate:
Measure your opening width, if installing posts, deduct the size of the post you are using (50mm each side for our 12G posts), then deduct an additional 40mm (20mm gap each side).
Then decide how tall you want your gate to be, and then deduct 50mm for the gap underneath.
Example:
Opening Width is 1200 -> Make Width is 1200-50-50-40 = 1060.
Finish Height is 1800 -> Make Height is 1800-50 = 1750.

Double Gate:
Measure your opening width, if installing posts, deduct the size of the post you are using (50mm each side for our 12G posts), then deduct an additional 60mm (20mm gap each side and in-between).
Then decide how tall you want your gates to be, and then deduct 50mm for the gap underneath.
Example:
Opening Width is 2000 -> Make Width is 2000-50-50-60 = 1840/2 = 920 per gate.
Finish Height is 1800 -> Make Height is 1800-50 = 1750.

When measuring your opening, take into account whether or not you will be installing new posts or using existing posts.
If installing new posts, measure from the outside of where the new posts will be installed. For example, if you are going to mount a post against a wall, measure from the wall and then deduct the width of the post.
If you already have posts installed, measure from inside the posts, and only deduct the gaps needed.

Add Hardware:
By ticking ‘Add Hardware’ the calculator will take into account the size of the gate, and whether it is single or double, and provide the necessary locks, hinges, etc.

Add Posts:
By ticking ‘Add Posts’ the calculator will allow for our 12G posts to be concreted into the ground. This adds 600mm to be installed into the ground.
If you will not be concreting posts, feel free to untick this option and manually add posts to your cart afterwards.
